Don't be too shy to say hi and introduce yourself ! Meeting new people is one of my goals here. Anyway...
Likes
Philosophy and literature, my favorite period being the nineteenth century. Romanticism in all its expressions. Dark things and experiences or expressions of genuine horror. The id, or, the unconscious. Self development. Nature, especially in its sublime form. Aesthetics. The Byronic hero and other 19th century archetypes. Women. Most of all my muse.
Dislikes
I dislike my obssessive compulsive tendencies. I like my private time and I generally prefer distance, but I dislike sometimes my increasing alienation from normal people. And it isn't so much that I dislike normal people so much as it is the fact I share so little in common with them anymore. It would be nice to have them available to me as an option, but that isn't realistic at this point. The average guy doesn't seem to suffer much from philosophical dillemas or "the human condition" type questions. By contrast, my entire life has been a concentrated effort to address these topics for myself and to apply them. Introspective people generally tend to meet a lot less true companions on the road through life. This can be "romantic" so to speak and it builds self reliance. But it's also a lonely existence. Stranded on a desert island lonely.
Favorite Music
Baroque music. Romanticism. Especially compositions for keyboard, both piano and harpsichord. I really like post punk goth rock, e.g. Danse Society and The Cure. Good electronic music.
