TODZUG BIOGRAPHY

General

TODZUG first saw the light of life on August 10th 2006 at 03h00 AM. It is the joined forces project of Miguel Claeys ( Digitally Compiled Madness, Sequencer:Requiem, Ozzma ) & Steve Desmadrijl ( Ozzma, Methadon ).

The band came to exist when both Miguel & Steve decided that it was time for something new and that they, after months of planning, were finally going to collaborate.

The studio outfit of TODZUG is quite simple.

All recordings take place at the "Red Lantern Studios" which are run by Miguel @ FUU. Miguel writes all lyrics and samples, sings all male vocal tracks. He also directs all recording and mastering activities. Steve composes and writes all music. He also is in charge of all instrumental recordings.

The live outfit for TODZUG is basically the same.

Miguel takes care of all vocals and serves as front man. Steve is in charge of the music and the live mix.

Ex-TODZUG band members:

Inez Descheemaeker: she was first featured on the "Endstation:Macht!" EP on which she preformed the female vocal samples.

She also joined the band for the very first gig at "The Last Sunset II" in Roeselare ( Belgium ) where TODZUG headlined.

TODZUG and Inez parted ways after the gig in Roeselare.

Davina Desmadrijl: she was our on-stage dancer. Davina took care of a adding a bit of visual representation of the music during live shows.

She was also featured on the "Weltkrieg" EP where she did the female vocal samples in "March" and after that she also appeared in the song "DIE!!!".

Davina quit TODZUG in the summer of 2007.

Chronological biography:

2006:

The band was formed on August 10th and immediately hit the "Red Lantern Studios"  to create their very first EP called "Endstation:Macht" it was a 7-track demo with 1 hidden bonus track which later became "Deadbeat". The album was symbolically released on Halloween of 2006. The eradication had finally begun.

The general public responded very well to TODZUG and therefore it was only a matter of brief time before the band had build a very sturdy fan base. The first EP "Endstation:Macht!" reached sales way beyond the expectation of Miguel & Steve and is still a very wanted CD as we speak.

Then came the time for the very first public appearance of TODZUG. A befriended band ( Terminal Front ) invited TODZUG to preform a guest appearance on the "Spiral X" festival in Helmond ( The Netherlands ). TODZUG preformed two tracks with Terminal Front, one was "Blind Rage" and the second was the TODZUG remix of "Burn".

The Dutch crowd responded very well to TODZUG and thus the band reached a broader public and started to have fans in The Netherlands as well.

2007:

After being very satisfied with the results the band got in 2006, TODZUG decided it was time for a new release, and so “Nightmare” came to see the light of day. It was a 5 track EP which pictured the band in a few very different aspects, the album did not tell a story the way "Endstation:Macht!" did but it portrayed the band as being very versatile.

Then came the time for TODZUG to make it's very first, own live appearance. TODZUG was asked to headline at "The Last Sunset II" in Roeselare ( Belgium ).

The band filmed the gig with 5 cameras from a multi angle view and later used the footage to create the "Eradication: Live" DVD. The gig also served as official release party for the "Nightmare" EP. Taking everything into consideration it was a really great gig and everybody enjoyed it. The fans were very happy to finally be able to see the band live and the band loved the fact that there were so many loyal fans present to support them.

There was only 1 down side to the gig in Roeselare ( Belgium ) and that was the fact that TODZUG ran into a bit of trouble with the local authorities. The police shutdown our gig during the very last song, Deadbeat, which ever since has been the closing track for every TODZUG show.

After the success of the gig and the “NightmareEP, TODZUG once again hit the studios and started to work on the “Weltkrieg” album. The album was going to be a complete representation of the TODZUG point of view on war. It was brought to life as a 7 track album with one hidden bonus track.

Once the album was finished TODZUG was invited to preform a live gig at the “Beter Belgisch” party in Gent ( Belgium ), a top 100 tribute party to every Belgian band in and around the gothic, industrial scene. The party also served as the official release party for the “Weltkrieg” album.

The “Weltkrieg” album was, just like it's predecessors, very successful right from the start.

After the official release of “Weltkrieg”, TODZUG focussed all of it’s attention on the footage they recorded during the gig in Roeselare ( Belgium ).

The band spent all summer editing together the feeds from the 5 camera’s and the soundtrack they recorded at the show. During the editing process they also recorded a small teaser to send into the world. At the end of the summer the “Eradication: LiveDVD was finally ready. The DVD is yet to be released at an appropriate time.

Now as we speak TODZUG is focussing all of their attention on the gig that will be preformed at "The Steeple" in Wargem ( Belgium ). TODZUG will be a support act for "Tactical Sekt" & "Life Cried".

Now we await what the future brings us...

Side projects:

Additional biography:

Miguel has been involved with music since he was a child. He started out at the age of 10 playing piano and flute. From that he rolled into playing guitar, both classical and electric. He has always had a connection with harsh, electronic music. Although most of his time making music was spend with other than electronic music. He was in several metal and shred bands as a guitarist and sometimes as a backup vocalist. At the time he also had a one-man shred project. Due to an unfortunate accident in which the wrist joint of his right hand was damaged for life Miguel had to give up shred. Since there was no longer a point for him to stay in metal or shred bands he decided to finally come to terms with his deep love for electronic music. In late december 2005 he created Digitally Compiled Madness, an industrial - EBM band with a broad range of sounds. At the start Digitally Compiled Madness was an instrumental band. There were 2 official releases: Eclipse of Mankind’s Sanity which had a very typical minimal EBM sound to it, and then there was What lies beneath the Ashses which showed some other aspects of Digitally Compiled Madness. During 2007 Miguel also started experimenting with vocals in this project. Somewhere in the summer of 2007 Miguel started a second project called Sequencer:Requiem a project in which he relies on classical, sometimes even acoustic instruments to give shape to his less harsh musical emotions. Also in the summer of 2007 TODZUG was started (see official TODZUG biography). In the spring of 2007 Miguel was asked to join Ozzma as guitarist. Since he never lost his love for the instrument and was still able to play rhythm tracks he gladly accepted the offer from his long time friend and colleague Steve Desmadrijl.

Der Angstman

General info:

Name: Steve Desmadrijl

Artist name: Angstman

Function: Music composer

Influences: Geistform, Dulce Liquido, Haus Arafna, Aslan Faction, Psyclon Nine

Side Projects:

- Ozzma

- Methadon

Additional biography:

Steve started making music when he was 15, playing bass guitar and electric guitar. His first music project Slingblade was more an experimental project with lo-fi drum samples mixed with his guitars. He started playing in a few garage-bands called R3PL1CA, Drop Dead Riot and Drown in Blood. When these bands fell apart, he concentrated on making electronic music, still combined with guitars and so Methadon came to life. The guitars were used only in the beginning and were simultaniously left out in the end. The first Methadon songs always sounded like a different band playing. But as Steve gained experience, things started to sound more like his own sound. There were 2 demo CD's called "Paingenerator" and "Doomgeneration". November 2004 Ozzma was born and things got connected to the goth scene in Bruges. He got to know a lot of party organisations and got booked a few times to give a concert. It was at one of these concerts that Steve invited Miguel to come and see Ozzma play. After that they kept in touch and after a while, they dicided to have their own collaboration. It was after 6 months that on one night, 3 AM, that TODZUG was born. The reunion of Miguel and Steve is due to make the world a even worse place than it is right now, but that's revolution!

The ultimate prophecy of worldwide Eradication.
Influences:
All music is compiled through the personal feelings of Der_Angstman and is made out of demonic beats straight from hell topped off with synths and filters inspired by evil itself.

All lyrics are written by Der_Blutrichter and are based on facts and experiences out of his personal life.

Further influences are industrial noize experiments, heavy machinery and pure madness.
