Themis: Underground Wicca Rock Band
Themis, her name meaning 'law of nature' rather than human ordinance, was the mythological Titaness of good counsel. Themis was the embodiment of divine order, law, custom and conceivably the first true Wiccan.
We are Themis, the Wicca Rock Band. Themis Band: Artistic outlaws in a melodic embrace of the law of nature rather than human ordinance. Paradoxically we are demons with heart & spirit of silver-winged angels.
Our once 'punkish' Themis band has morphed into something friendly, Gothicus and evolving between the light and the darkness some time between the middle ages and tomorrow. Themis music. Pure love of life is the antithesis to mainstream normal. Themis welcomes you.
We of Themis are in Mother Earths nature, humbled in reverence as if in the temple of the Lord and Lady. Not prone to the arrogance of human technology as they touch our souls, we of Themis are collectively healers, teachers, seekers, givers, and protectors of all things. Vegans. Eclectic Gardnerian Wiccans. Musicians. Themis. If this Themis path is yours, may you walk it with Themis in honour, light and integrity.
Themis ~ Wicca Rock Band. Artistic outlaws in a rhythmic embrace of the law of nature rather than human ordinance, Themis music is melodic artistry in nature, love and life.
Themis mantra: Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with Themis music
The gothic spirit that haunts Themis music.
We are artistic outlaws in the melodic artistry of nature, life and love. We are the ultimate paradox as the darkest of demons having heart and spirit of silver-winged angels.
We are Themis.
We welcome the light, the shadow and all that lies between.
We are in Mother Earths nature, humbled in reverence as if in the temple of the Lord and Lady*.
Not prone to the arrogance of human technology as they touch our souls, we are healers, teachers, seekers, givers, and protectors of all things. If this path is yours, may you walk it with us in honour, light and integrity.
We have a deep love and appreciation of life and find awe in watching the sunrise or sunset, the forest in the light of a glowing moon, a meadow enchanted by the first light of day.
We revere the morning dew on the petals of a beautiful flower; the gentle caress of a warm summer breeze upon our skin; and the warmth of the summer sun on our faces.
We thrive in the fall of colourful autumn leaves; the song and spirit of the birds and other creatures of the wild.
Our music is written from a love of life.
The cycles of nature are our holy days: the earth is our temple, its plants and creatures our partners and teachers.
We respect life, cherish the free will of sentient beings, and accept the sacredness of all creation.
Our bible is the wind and the rain.
*A creative force exists in the universe, which is sometimes called "The One" or " The All". Little can be known of this force but the " Goddess and the God" as archetypes, based on myth may represent the female and male aspects of all things. These deities are not "out there somewhere;" they are immanent in the world.
Pagan so-called deities (Pan, Athena, Diana, Brigit, Zeus, Odin, etc.) can symbolize various aspects of the Goddess and the God but they are not Gods. The Goddess and the God may only be archetypes, based on myth.
There is no supernatural being in the pantheon of deities who resembles the Christian-Muslim Satan.
Nature has a sexual polarity. Nature's fertilizing rain is one manifestation of the male principle; the nurturing earth symbolizes the female.
Females are respected as equal but have a slightly higher rank to males.
Sexuality is valued, and regarded as a gift of the Goddess and God, to be engaged in with joy and responsibility, and without manipulation.
"The Great Rite" is ritual sexual intercourse consensually performed by a committed couple in private.
All good that a person does to another returns three fold in this life; harm is also returned three fold.
We are healers, a teachers, seekers, givers, and protectors of all things. If this path is yours, may you walk it with honour, light and integrity.
Themis in greek mythology means "law of nature" rather than "human ordinance". The goddess Themis presided over the proper relation between man and woman, the basis of the rightly ordered family. She stood for justice.
Pronounced like 'FAMOUS' with a "TH" instead of "F" Spelling: tau eta epsilon mu iota sigma.
Themis music: Our singular goal is having a good time together; being happy; and sharing that happiness with you if that is your choosing. :o)
A strong thread in the artistic work of Themis is the Wiccan love of life and nature. Lyrical references to the "Love of Life", the "Forest of Life", "the Honeyed Fountain", "the gentle caress of a warm summer breeze" focus on the Wiccan belief in nature's divinity.
Themis Music has drawn nature-loving Wiccans from all over the world (http://www.themismusic.com/).
Themis promotes unity among all peoples through the natural love for music among earth's peoples; and the common need to love earth and her fragility.

* . . . "Females are respected as equal but have a slightly higher rank to males."
Themis Vegans Vegan Society Members
The term vegan was coined in 1944 when Elsie Shrigley and Donald Watson, frustrated that the term "vegetarianism" had come to include the eating of dairy products, founded the UK Vegan Society. They combined the first three and last two letters of vegetarian to form "vegan," which they saw as "the beginning and end of vegetarian.
Wiccans are most often vegan.
The Vegan and Wiccan love of life and nature are perfect parallels.
Veganism is a way of living which excludes all forms of exploitation or cruelty toward the animal kingdom and includes a significant reverence for life as do we Themis Wiccans.
Humans are omnivores and as such have a choice of being herbivores, carnivores or both. Themis Vegans choose to be herbivores. It's perfectly healthy and natural.
Veganism applies to the practice of living on the products of the plant kingdom to the exclusion of flesh, fish, fowl, eggs, honey, animal milk and its derivatives (cheese etc.) and encourages the use of alternatives for all commodities derived wholly or in part from animals.
[ Bees are exploited (starved) in the farming and harvesting of honey. Their environment is heavily manipulated. Bees lose their lives in the commercial honey industry, due to the way in which they are mishandled.
