I am that other half, the yearning shell, the longing partner. My heart has a melancholic frost that envails it and is waiting for her to thaw it. I want to find her, but i cant search forever. If her and I are both searching, we may cross each other's path, but tragically at different times. Therefore, I gather what strength and willpower I have left to muster and focus that energy into my ability to be patient.
The do not's
Do not give me false hope, for if I had a choice, I would choose no hope. Do not drop my heart when I take it out of my chest for you. Do not tell me something that you will not stand by tomorrow.
The do's
Be the one I keep safe in my arms, and the one who's arms I am warm in. Be the one beside me when the storm's howl is seeping with terror. Be the one that I cannot get of my mind. Be the one to thaw this heart and incubate it until wings sprout forth and it can join the choir of songbirds and sing you to sleep.
