I am currently living in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. I came here with my girlfriend who is teaching here for a year. This is quite a change for us. But so far, we are enjoying ourselves.
I'm kind of quiet and soft-spoken. Its not that I have nothing to say, its just that I prefer taking in my surroundings before I express myself. I generally come off as shy at first, but I'm not, I'm usually just getting a feel for a person. Once I get to know people, I'm silly, quirky and relatively talkative. I guess my scientific nature makes me more observant and curious of my surroundings.
I am currently in the process of designing my future. I know I want to do something science-related - either work in a lab or teach science (probably Chem or Physics). I think I'd prefer to work in a lab though. I want to wear a lab coat and play around with beakers and test tubes all day long. Yes, I'm a huge science nerd lol. Although teaching wouldn't be too bad. I'd get to instill a love for science in my students. And I could be the crazy, long-haired science teacher. Doesn't every school need at least one?
I think I may be the only science nerd in the world who is also obsessed with hockey lol. I watch all the time. I go to games 1-2 times per month. I'd go more often if the team I rooted for wasn't a state away and over an hour trip each way. I've been spending the past 2 weeks checking on trades and player signings hoping we sign Ilya Kovalchuk long-term. Go Devil's!
I am also saving to get engaged. My girlfriend and I have been together for over 6.5 years now. All in all, I feel that my life is finally coming together. And for the first time in quite a while, I'm very optimistic for the future. I'm going to marry the woman I love and I'm going to do what I love (science) for the rest of my life. What more could I ask for?
