Now, let's begin:

Who, me?

My name is Sophie, but I'm known as Fee.

I'm 21.

I live in London, but I'm from Northern Ireland and proud of it.

I'm not gay. I'm not straight. I'm not bisexual. To me, gender is irrelevant to love and attraction..

I currently work in the The Stationery Office, but I want to go to university to study classical history.

I have body issues. Most people do. Some days I'm happy with how I look, but I have a lot of 'fat days'. I know I'm not fat, but sometimes I can't see it.

I think it's very important for people to remember that Whiskey in the Jar was an Irish folk song. Metallica did not write it.

I am intelligent.

I'm probably not as unique as I like to think I am. But I'm a well-rounded human being, so I get +10 original points for minimal neurosis.

I Like:

Reading. I love being able to get lost in a book.

Music. It doesn't judge.

Scarlett Johansson. Oh my.

Rubbish Saturday night TV. It's shameful, but it's compulsive viewing.

Guinness. It is a good drink.

Dancing. It cheers me up no end and it's a good way to exercise.

The internet. I am an e-geek and proud of it.

Learning new things. I didn't appreciate school when I was there, but I'd love to go back now. Except without the wankers.

David Attenborough. I adore him.

I Don't Like:

Work. A necessary evil, but I don't think I was put on this earth to be a nine-to-fiver.

Beauty/application cults. Get over yourself; most of you are mediocre at best.

The desire people have to 'look after' me. Alright, so I'm a bit naive sometimes, but I'm not incapable and would occasionally like to be left to do things my own way, even if it results in making my own mistakes.

Schopenhauer and Aristotle.

Labels. I know stereotypes are an automatic instinct to keep us safe, but there's no need for it when it comes to musical taste.

Closed minds. By all means have your opinion, but keep yourself open to the possibility of your opinion being changed.

Stupidity. And let it be known that being academically unintelligent and being stupid are not the same thing.

The cold. Give me rain, fine. But just not the cold, I hate being cold.

Fat Days. I hate feeling paranoid about my weight, especially when I'm well aware that I'm of average weight.

My Music:

Placebo

David Bowie

Marilyn Manson

Cat Stevens

T-Rex

Queen

Muse

AFI

Beethoven

+ a million trillion more...

I'm enjoying getting to hear new music on VF, too.

Good Reads:

Currently reading The Unbearable Lightness of Being - Milan Kundera

Catch 22 - Joseph Heller

American Gods and Neverwhere - Neil Gaiman

Middlesex - Jeffrey Eugenides

The Theban Plays - Sophocles (and most Ancient Greek stuff in general. Smart bunch.)

Socrates - all of. See above.

Anything by Coleridge.

Blood Wedding by Lorca. Incredible play.

To Kill A Mockingbird - Harper Lee. You may hate studying it in school, but it's an amazing book.

Oracle Night (and anything in general by Paul Auster)

The Consolations of Philosophy (or anything by Alain de Botton)

Harry Potter. Yes, and?

In the Miso Soup, by Ryu Murakami. I'm working on reading his other stuff.

Junk by Melvin Burgess was the first book I ever fell in love with. I read it about ten times between the ages of 14 - 17 and I still have my copy.

The Long Hard Road out of Hell, by Mr Marilyn Manson. It's a great read, even if you're not a fan.

Post Secret. Hunt it out and have a look.

Movies:

Das Leben der Anderen (The Lives of Others)

Smilla's Feeling for Snow

Velvet Goldmine

Drop Dead Gorgeous

What's Eating Gilbert Grape?

Lost in Translation

Chicago

Studio Ghibli as a rule.
