Sense Absence formed as a band in the Autumn of 2005. Then consisting of two members. Fredrik Valmestarød and Magnus Andersen. After a Month or so a friend of Fredrik introduced them to Lars , a guitarist. Lars soon dragged an aquiantence of his into the band, Florian B.D. Winter. Sense Absence quickly produced their two first songs and played their first concert with the staggering amount of 900 people in the audience. But when trying to further develop their style they hit a stagger and inner disputes and guitarist Lars was fired from the band. Bassguitarist Florian Winter then took on the role as Lead guitarist and sped up production and composed the most heavy and technical song yet (Proper Destruction...wich actually really, really sucks). From here on everything went upwards, soon they had produced 3 more songs and were looking for a new bassguitarist. A skiller Bassplayer from the bands "Concrete and Amoena", Martin Kaasa Sletner joined the band after hearing Florian play through their songs. And from there on it was on the road. Sense Absence played 3 gigs with Martin and started producing a new song before Martin had to leave the band because of time issues between his three bands. But he didn't leave them empty-handed. Martin hooked them up with longtime bassplayer Henrik S. Tangen from the local band Gymbag wich just recently quit playing (R.I.P). And thats about it so far :).
Sounds Like:
Sense Absence draws it's inspiration from many places, genres and bands. Genre-wise we like to think of ourselves as a Metalcore/Trash Metal/Gothenburg Metal/Grindcore band. Metalcore because of the Balls-out or silvery smooth vocals by our Singer. Trash metal because of our sometimes speedy and technical riffs (Powerchords are for ****), and because of the backup Vocals and Trashy solos, and not to forget, our lightning fast bassplayer. Gothenburg Metal because of the way we layer our songs and make our acoustic parts (And yes we know, we're not from gothenburg). And Grindcore because of our wicked fast and technical drummer, the star of the band. In other words, it's good shit.
