I will make this short and sweet. I'm a former goth kid turned responsible adult who came to VF to remind myself as to why I no longer go out to goth clubs. Oh, and I came here to annoy my little sister. Can't forget that one. If you are reading this and saying to yourself "who the fuck is she to insult us goths", let me explain. Back many moons ago, the scene was quite different. Nothing you have really experienced. You may have liked it or hated it-who knows. The outfits wore by goths were handmade and styled by the individual because there was no hot topic back then. Music required real talent and you could tell the difference between bands. Bringing your own CD's to have the DJ play it was common and when you came home from at 10:00 am the next morning from the club smelling like cloves and vodka, that was considered a great night....and then you did it again. The DJ's took requests, the dancefloor was dark and mysterious...there were NO FUCKING GLOWSTICKS!! (not knocking glowsticks, I just don't think they belong on a dancefloor unless it is at a sweet 16). It was just a great time. The scene was full of originality and style. Now it is full of pre-made, cookie cutter outfits, the bands all sound like and every song sounds like " utz utz utz utz." and glowsticks are now a requirement in order to dance. You can't smoke indoors, DJ's play the same damn 4 songs over and over and to be honest, I can only listen to Combichrist to many times before I snap. Also, when you are married to a musician who is somewhat known in this scene, your perception of the scene itself changes. Half of my friends/acquaintances are in bands that are well known and you get to hear the road stories and get to know them on a personal level. So, now do you understand what I mean? Ok, go back to your glowsticks :)

Favorite Music
I like everything really. I range anywhere from Wumpscut to Paul Potts. Android Lust to kenny Rodgers. Simple Minds to Blut Engel. The only thing I draw the line on is Elvis....I don't care how much you think he is the king, I am not into him.
