Don't worry, dearheart. I don't bite.

Much

Welcome to my wonderful VF page. I hope you like it. My name is Hannah, and I'm an 18 year old Theatre Studies and English Literature student. For those of you into that side of life, I'm a Taurean and I believe in Asatru. I live for performance, and I would one day like to direct and write my own horror films; as well as act in Shakespeare. I'd love to stage Titus Andronicus one day...

I wish I lived in a fairytale world. I would be happiest living amongst the goblins in the Labyrinth, in the fabulous castle with the Beast, or even deep in the heart of Fantasia. It is incredibly lonely these days.

I'm making a list of all the places I want to travel to, all of the sites I want to see, and I'm determined to do it by any means necessary.

I'm also learning Russian, and I can't wait to be able to speak it properly. My trip to St Petersburg and Moscow will be alot easier once I can speak the language! Feel free to peruse what I have here at your own peril/pleasure.

When I'm not blasting people on HMS Tunrida, I'm sewing them back together. As Her Royal Highness Geneve Forward, I serve as HMS Tunrida's Chief Gunner and Doctor. The feeling of the air on one's face as you rush through the sky, the derigible swelling with hydrogen and the engine humming beneath you is something undescribable.

And remember... when the siren goes, one is moving into the dark side. So mind your head and ready your pistol. Now, I leave you with one of the finest poems in the English language

Below the thunders of the upper deep;
Far far beneath in the abysmal sea,
His ancient, dreamless, uninvaded sleep
The Kraken sleepeth: faintest sunlights flee
About his shadowy sides; above him swell
Huge sponges of millennial growth and height;
And far away into the sickly light,
From many a wondrous grot and secret cell
Unnumber'd and enormous polypi
Winnow with giant arms the slumbering green.
There hath he lain for ages, and will lie
Battening upon huge seaworms in his sleep,
Until the latter fire shall heat the deep;
Then once by man and angels to be seen,
In roaring he shall rise and on the surface die.

But I am almost certain I have missed things out.

As for what I look for in my fellow cadavers, I like people who are open minded, empathic and realise when I want to talk and when I don't, people who either understand me, or don't pretend to but accept me anyway. I like people who won't push opinions onto me, people who aren't optimistic all the time and don't expect me to be, people who are happy to sit in silence and enjoy my company rather than having to talk all the time, but I enjoy conversations with people who can engage me and keep up with me all the same. I also like people who realise that at times you just need to mess around and act completely from the imagination and the heart rather than calculating every last minute detail.

I also enjoy cinema:

Labyrinth, Beowulf, Stardust, Nightmare Before Christmas, Princess Bride, Edward Scissorhands, Sweeney Todd, The Crow, The Lost Boys, Interview With The Vampire, Bram Stoker's Dracula, The Craft, Howl's Moving Castle, Spirited Away, Princess Mononoke, Evil Dead, Halloween, Moulin Rouge, The Wizard of Oz, Rent, The Sound of Music, Beauty And The Beast, Silent Hill, Underworld, Hook, Sleepy Hollow, Big Fish, The Mummy, Vincent Price movies, Christopher Lee movies, Bela Lugosi movies, Boris Karloff movies

And literature. I cannot describe how much I enjoy reading. It's partially why I am studying what I am; to read, digest, investigate literature is one of the finest parts of life. To create it anew is also a fervent passion of mine. I enjoy many things, but the classics, mythology and Victorian Gothic literature are my particular favourites.

Oscar Wilde- The Picture of Dorian Gray
William Shakespeare- Titus Andronicus, Macbeth, Othello
George Orwell- 1984
Anne Rice- The Vampire Lestat
Kelley Armstrong- Bitten
Laurell K Hamilton- Bloody Bones
Bram Stoker- Dracula
Mary Shelley- Frankenstein
HP Lovecraft- The Dunwich Horror, The Call of Cthulhu
Jane Austen- Pride and Prejudice, Sense and Sensibility
Classic mythology- The Three Theban Plays, Medea, The Aenid, The Eddas, Beowulf, The Kalevala
David Eddings- The Mallorean
Marlowe- Doctor Faustus, Dido; Queen of Carthage
Dante- The Inferno
Milton- Paradise Lost
Nabokov- Lolita
Angela Carter- The Bloody Chamber

As for poetry, it's all about Plath, Blake, Tennyson, Keats, Coleridge, Shelley, Poe, Ovid, Virgil, Goethe, Dante, Milton and Homer.

I'm also a real foodie. Maybe that's why I am the size I am, who knows. But I love real, good, decent food. It doesn't have to be avant guarde, haut cuisine either. I love Asian food (Japanese, Thai, Chinese, Indian, Korean, Vietnamese, Indonesian), Mexican food, Italian food, English food, Spanish food, Greek food (although it's hard for me to eat this as a vegetarian) and Moroccan food.

To compile a list of my favourite foods would be hard as it's always changing, but I'll give it a go:

Halloumi and salad tortilla wraps
Refried Beans
Corn Chilli Buritos
Vegetarian Sushi
Tofu
Stir Fried beansprouts
Pak Choi
Ramen noodles
Pad Tofu
Vegetable Khao Pad
Khanom Chin Namya
Pad Pak Ruam
Vegetable curry with copious amounts of cumin
Beany chilli
Patatas Bravas
any pasta dish with lots of garlicky tomatoes
asparagus risotto
stuffed vine leaves
Sag Aloo
Chickpeas
Sticky Toffee Pudding
Pepero

I'm also finding as I get older, my palette is changing... I now love things like dark chocolate and can't stand white (milk will always be an indulgence)... and I can barely drink lager these days. Please, offer me some real scrumpy cider if there's no bitter, real ale or stout behind the bar. I also love a good whiskey, or a dark rum, or even a bourbon. Sake is delicious... but I'm just as likely to indulge in a class of a good, full bodied red. I am a tea afficionado also...

Again, I can hate many things in equal measure. I have once again compiled a small list to give you an idea

discrimination
not being taken seriously
ignorance
cauliflower
arguments
being afraid of thunder and lightning
too hot summers
humidity
dishonesty
chauvinists
the 'size zero' debate
celeb culture
'gangsta/thug life/soldiers'
the new xmen
misogynists

the british government
my ex boyfriend
people who try to control me
people who try to change me
homophobes
when people put me into a box and expect me to stay there
writer's block
incorrect grammer
sloppy speech

I hate the sort of girls you see walking around these days with one thing and one thing only on their minds, and the girls you see on sites like this that proclaim themselves to be 'sluts, bitches, cunts, whores' etc... Come on, if you don't respect yourself how do you expect men to? I also despise the men that encourage this. You small minded idiots wouldn't be on this world if it wasn't for us women so give us the respect we deserve, please.

I dislike people who claim to be something that they are not, whether that is a person or an attribute. I also dislike people who expect me to conform to their standard. People who throw words and feelings around without meaning them also get to me; how can you play with people like that? Manipulators and stirrers are also a pet hate of mine.

Do we not all enjoy music? It is one of the things that brings people together, that unites races. Every culture has used music in some shape or form, and it's power is undeniable.

I LOVE the song 'Disturbia'. Partly because my flatmate Mark loves it, partly because I've grown to love it... it's just a fantastic song. Altogether now: BUM BUM BEDA BUM BUM BE DUM BUM, BUM BUM BEDA BUM BUM BE DUM BUM
