About Me
Hello. My name is Mac. I mainly created this profile to promote my band, but that doesn't mean I won't talk to you if you talk to me.
I'd like to hear some feedback on the songs because they're more important than myself, but if you wanna know something about the guy behind them, ask =]
If I added you to my friends, it's because I expect you to do the same... it's just polite, isn't it?
If you added me to your bands list or faves list, let me know and I'll return the favour. You cannot have enough courtesy in this pigsty of a world, can you?
Anyways, welcome on board, let me know what you think about the music and be cool.
LunarVein: A short biography.
After almost a decade as frontman of the Doom-Death Metal band UmbraE, Macklen "Mac" Mingura decides to experiment with a different style of music that allows him to explore different angles of himself as a singer, poet and songwriter.
Stepping away from the "extreme metal" labels that plagued his previous project to his dismay, Mingura drags with him the angst, anger, sadness, passion, love and uncertainty that unwittingly landed him in the "Doom Metal" realms. Focusing on the dense feelings of UmbraE's trademark misery and outrage towards the ways of the world, Mingura raises songs outlined by tragedy, guilt and deep introspection. His music has been stripped of superfluous elements that got in the way of free-flow in previous efforts. Concise to the point of minimalism, every song is a story, an essay on the weaknesses of the human condition. And yes, there are love songs. For, what would Rock N' Roll be without love songs?
The album was produced by David Quicho, frontman of prog metal prodigies Dimension, along with guest drummer Mane Cabrales, also of Dimension who stood in as studio drummer. All other instruments (guitars, bass, keyboards and vocals) were recorded by Macklen Mingura.
Influences
Rock and Roll in all its forms. Poetry. Visual arts. Love, lust, loss, life and lack thereof. Music influences range from Elvis Presley, The Rolling Stones, Nick Cave and The Doors to Modern "suomi" metal and american rock, grunge, NU metal and gothic rock.
