About Me
I'm a total geek, and a bit of a dork, and probably a nerd as well, i obsess over things like reading [esp. Harry Potter and Anita Blake] and just to add the final nail in the coffin i bought torchwood series one on dvd...
I'm what magazines like to call 'plus size' what they basically mean is i'm fat. Don't get me wrong, there is such a thing as curvy, but there's curves and then there's rolls! I don't mind being fat, i get to eat lots of junk that the obsessive calorie counters dont, and they still actually make clothes in my size...when i have to have custom made clothing then i'll consider the whole exercise thing.
I say 'lol' a ridiculous amount, i really do apologise for it, but it's like i can barely end a sentence when typing without it. [just fought back the urge to type lol, be proud, lol (doh)]
oh...and I HAVE A CAR! Bloody expensive as it is, at least petrol's getting cheaper, lol....... Education
School has essentially taken over my life at the moment, lol. I'm really bloody determined to do well this year! It is my last after all.
I'm taking English language and literature A2, History A2, Sociology AS and Extended project AS. And i already scraped some qualifications in Textiles [a C at A2, tad miffed, doing resits] and a D in AS RE [pretty chuffed seeing as I didn't have a teacher for this one]
I spend a good 2-3 sometimes even 4-5 hours a night doing homework, studing and writing notes, lol. So, I'm not on here as much as I used to be....ach well.
I'm aiming to go to uni next year to do English, maybe joint with sociology depending on the uni i choose. My English teacher wants me to apply for Oxford...like that's going to happen, lol. I'm thinking more along the lines of Glamorgan or Cardiff atm...
Books
Gah, geek here! love my reading, a lot! My fave authors are JRR Tolkein, JK Rowling, Jane Austen, LK Hamilton, Kathy Reichs, George Orwell, Patricia Cornwell, and loads more that i cant be arsed to list...
My fave books ahve to be the Anita Blake series by Laurell K Hamilton, the first ones in the series are all about raising zombes and fighting crime [not as lame as it sounds, on my oath!] the later ones get pretty steamy though, not the kind of thing you want your mother reading over your shoulder!
On a par with AB is Harry Potter, this is where my real inner-geek emerges, i obsessed over HP when i was younger, and i still adore it all! it's like my brain food after a shitty week at school and work! I have to admit i mostly read the fanfic and slash now-days as i started being able to recall chapters at a time of the actual books, and lets face it, Harry is a total fag!
If you have a brain that produces actual thought proces you will have [or will be after reading this] read George Orwell's 1984. It's short, i read it in a day, but it's just so emotive and it really makes you think. It's about the government controlling everything, the epitamy of the big-brother culture, it's truly frightening at times, purely because you can see it actually happening if the gov. gets out of controll...
Trawling my way through Charlotte Bronte's Jane Eyre atm, it's a bit of a pig, especailly seeing as i can only read a couple of pages at a time between work and school. Films
V for Vendetta is my new fave atm, it's a bit of a mind bender, which i like, donnie darko-esque but totally different, once again the big-brother culture thing, has quite a few similarities with 1984 actually...
Harry Potter, again, obviously, it's the ice-pack for my mind! Plus, Alan Rickman as Snape *drool*
Lord of the Rings = too bloody amazing for words, the way they adapted the book, the lengths they went to to make it so very real, the actors, the costumes, just everything was top-notch, i adored every second, even, nay, especailly of the extended series!
So, i just discovered GI Jane, bit late i know...lol, but it's amazng! i was screaming at the tv the whole way through like 'go girl' and 'hit him in the fucking face that wanker', lol. yehhh, i got a little too into it... | | | |

I simply adore textiles, making my own clothes, bags, and hopefully in the future jewellery! I tend to mostly customise my clothes or buy random things from charity shops or wierd backstreet places. But i love to make my own stuff, sadly a lot of the time i dont have the time or enough money to buy the materials. I'm the person that wears a pink night-dress with black jeans and goth boots, or a granny skirt, band top and docs.
I'm currently doing alevel textiles, which is rather groovey, sadly we dont really make anything i'd actually wear, mostly because u ahve to show as much skill as possible and add as many techniques to the garment as possible. for GCSE i made a bodice and AS a dress for Amy Lee. they look rather good from an examiners pov, but the bodice is a little too busy to be fashionable, and the dress is a bit too showy for day-to-day wear.
I hope to one day own my own shop-come-cafe where i'd sell my own stuff, maybe other local talent's too. I'm workign my way up to making my own lable atm 'the rusty halo'. hopefully it'll be huge one day, but i'm not holding my breath... Dislikes
