"We provide music for fighting" This is how the alternative rock band founded in 2001 by the leader/singer David introduces itself to the world. Considered by many "a fish out of the water" HFS don't seem to fit in any known genre, too alternative for metal, too rock for industrial, and too angry for the world they released in 2009 what has been called the "fight-rock manifesto", their first full-length album "The Angry Army" Defined it by Orkus Magazine "a furious album" The Angry Army divided the critics, inflamed the fans and scared the rest of the world. Raging, heavy down-tuned guitar riffs mixed with industrial electronics and the powerful voice of the leader, their first work of already had a long history even before being released. The band refused several offers from different labels before signing with Hellfest/Universal Records and Brainstorm. That, a very long pre-production and some delays due to their previous label made the album release skip for more than a year, but once out, feed backs from their "soldiers" were enthusiastic and their fan base grew fast day by day. The whole concept of the album was not only to scream out loud their ideas but also to give people the strength, and the will to fight for what they believe in. Worshiped, hated, criticized, loved and discussed the album made the whole alternative music scene shake. The official video of the first single extracted from the album is an Hoovephonics cover, "Mad about You". Dark, suffocating, claustrophobic and intense as the location where it was filmed in: a real WWII decadent asylum in Florence. The video immediately gets great feedback and give the band recognition. During their european tour in 2010 HFS plays at Trash Fest II in Helsinki (Finland) as headliner for the Kick Off Party in the famous club Semifinal, while David is the official host of the whole 3 days festival. They are headliner for the Schwarzes Dresden X Festival in Germany few months later, they also took part at the New Order Festival in Italy, played in clubs like Siddharta, Viper Theater, Temple of Music, and engaged a mini tour as headliner in Germany. Hellfire Society gets also called for three important remixes, the first one is for the single "Runaway" by Ladytron, the official HFS Remix of it give the band worldwide recognition, breaking the boundaries of the alternative genre. Their remix, released worldwide by Nettwerk Records, gets played in clubs all over the world from the best dj's and radio. Later on they're called for another remix, this is the time for a worldwide N.1 billboard hit: Felix Da House Cat' "Silver Screen/Shower Scene", once again HFS conquest the alt-dance scene with another success. Then it's time for Mortiis, the Norwegian indutrial band remixes for them "Clothes, Boots and Tortured Souls" Hellfire Society gets called as official support for Hanzel und Gretyl "OktotenFest Tour", in November 2010 hitting Austria, Swiss and Italy. Included in several compilations like MamaTrash Family Artist (USA), Nachtaktif Magazine compilation, New Blood V and many more
In August 2010 three songs extracted from the album made their way in the popular videogame for Xbox, Playstation and Wii "ROCKBAND". 2010 The band then signs a new contract with Danse Macabre Records and they are ready for a new album. A new, cutting edge set of tracks that raises the bar of alternative rock quality. More mature, the new album is at the same time brutal and heavy sounding as well as very intimate and deep. Black-OP, this is the title of the new work, gets fiction and reality mixed to the point in which is impossible to know where the truth ends and the story begins: classified operations, robberies and secret societies are for the first time put in music, the album is fast, modern sounding and heavier and more pissed than the previous one. HFS puts aside electronics and industrial loops to make space for the basic rock instruments that sound bigger than life. An outrageous collection of dissing lines, where David drags out in the open all the dirt that hides in the music scene, but also pictures their lives and personal experiences, a complete work that projects HFS in the mainstream rock.
