GOTHMINISTER was formed by Bjorn Alexander Brem in 1999. In 2000 joined the keyboardplayer Halfface, followed by the guitarplayer Machine and Dementia aka the photographer Sandra Jensen (who developed the art direction of the band). GOTHMINISTER released the debutalbum;Gothic Electronic Anthems in 2003 and got fantastic critics in both German and international press, and Metal Hammer UK headlines read the undead are reborn. GOTHMINISTER have had several successful clubsingles, and on top the hit Angel, which entered the top 10 Deutche Alternative Charts. GOTHMINISTER played all the big German Festivals like WGT, Dark Storm Festival, three years in a row invited to the M`Era Luna Festival, and performing for more than 10.000 people at the Schattenreich Festival at ARENA in Oberhausen together with bands like Oomph! , In Extremo and Within Temptation. GOTHMINISTER had great success and the debutalbum was re-released by Drakkar Entertainment GmbH/BMG in November 2003. A new keyboardist, Android, joined, and then the drummer Chris Dead entered the band to give it a more organic livetouch. The second album, Empire of Dark Salvation took Gothminister to a totally new level. In Norway Gothminister became historic by being the very first gothic industrial band to be sponsored by Rikskonsertene to do a nightliner tour in the biggest cities, supported by Tristania. Even Bylarm ("Norwegian Popcom") organized a gothic event in connection with the release of Empire, presenting the very best artists from the Norwegian gothscene; Gothminister, Mortiis, Apoptygma Berzerk and Theatre of Tragedy. In Europe, Gothminister did almost 100 shows in more than 20 countries to promote Empire. The smash hit Monsters reached no.11 on the German Alternative Charts and the album sold almost 10.000 copies in Germany alone and was invited to the WGT and M`Era Luna Festival twice. Gothminister then signed with US label Dancing Ferret. With the new album;Empire of Dark Salvation the music of GOTHMINISTER is more than ever about heavier guitars and dark metal. The electronic elements are still there, but more in the background, to make room for fantastic orchestral pompous moods.
