Pseudo-intellectual: People of average intelligence who are enchanted with highly intellectual topics and discussions such as philosophy, socioeconomics, destiny of humanity, etc.
Unlike a genuine academic, a pseudo-intellectual's main reason for being interested in these topics is because it makes him feel intellectually superior to his peers. He usually despises main stream culture, accuses those who disagree with him as being ignorant, and when his ideas are challenged, he often retaliates with "That's a straw man argument!"
People whom beleive they are extremely intelligent and desire everyone to know it. In actuallity they are generally ignorant and close minded.
If this describes you DO NOT EVEN TALK TO ME. Seriously I will not respond, people like this make me angry. Here's a hint, if you reaction to the above statement was "Well, I'm intelligant but this doesn't describe me at all" you're wrong, it does.
I don't have much to say on anything political, especially not here. VF doesn't seem like the ideal place to air all my ultra-liberal views. I'll save that for when I'm ruler of the world :)
I try not to get sucked into the drama on here, it's a giant waste of time IMO, but love sitting back and watching the rest of you bicker amongts yourselves. It might just be that I'm easily entertained, but I find some of you hilarious.
I'm not deep, intellectual or tortured. Some people like philosophy and politics, I like pretty colours and big bangs. It's just who I am, I'm not going to pretend to be anything different. My secret wish in life is that I was born Chris-Griffen-from-Family-Guy retarded. Life would be so fantastic! That being said, I'm not retarded so blatent stupidity does irritate me. It's an oddly paradoxical problem...
