"Excellence is an art won by training and habituation. We do not act rightly because we have virtue or excellence, but we rather have those because we have acted rightly. We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act but a habit"

About Me
*Update!* So, as of November 10th 2012, I am now back from Mountain search and rescue training in Wales. I now have "field skills" haha! Forgive me for being shallow and uncompromising, I've just found that those with depth tend to drown themselves in it. To no meaningful end, I might add.
"Ein produkt aus süd-Afrika ;)"
I'm Brett, although colleagues call me Bruce. So is your name what you were given, or what people use?
There is not much really to be said, I was born in Alberton (Johannesburg, South Africa) and lived there for the most part of my life, travelling to the UK for educational purposes, I studied applied sciences (Forensics) at college. Finished top of my class in 17 out of 18 units and finished with the highest grades in my course, I'm a Shodan blackbelt in shotokan karate. My other interests include training, philosophy, studying and just generally tending/working towards some meaningful end.
Aside from the academic and logical pursuits, I also just like to spend my time musing about various aspects of life, people, cultures, beliefs and so on. Overall despite maintaining an "applied" mental state, I just prefer to be creative as and when I can, through drawing, writing or whatever takes my interest.
As to who I am at the moment, I'm just working, saving money and building towards studying Disaster Management at university, finish with a 1st degree and *hopefully* take a career as a young professional working for the United nations.
But all that said, What I do, What interests me and what I dedicate my life to is best summed up by this which I wrote whilst trying to "sum myself up" (If you've never tried to do so, I reccomend you should, It always brings interesting results =P):
I'm a man of Nature, not nurture. I am not a vegetarian, We are made to eat meat. I do not feel it is wrong to kill, we are not above the laws of animosity. I believe the better person is the one left standing. I do not feel fear, or hesitate. I am not dettered from what I aim to hold. To this end, I am an animal. proudly.
I am loyal, like only animals can be. I am protective, lazy and objective all at once. I never lie, because I do not care for the feelings of others, or their opinions of me. I aim to please no one, and somehow I please everyone.
