This is a profile for both Stricken Sigh and his project Flames Of Ice. Enjoy your visit.
Stricken Profile: I am a 30 year old currently serving in the United States Military. For now I reside in Augusta, GA, but who knows where later. I have a daughter who will be 6 in December, but no I'm not married (long story). I like music, shooting pool, karaoke, movies, reading and generally hanging out with friend. I dislike asshats, slutty asshats, close-minded asshats, trash talking asshats, asshats that just want to start shit, asshats with big ears, asshats with hobit feet... oh sorry, got carried away with myself. :)
Flames Of Ice Profile: In the winter of 2004 Stricken Sigh gave birth to his solo project and called it "Flames Of Ice". Using a program called "Fruity Loops", Stricken started by experimenting with "Trance" and "Drum N Bass". Soon after the project evolved to include darker and more "Goth" elements that he had always enjoyed in music. It was in 2004 that Flames Of Ice (FOI) release the instrumental EP entitled "These Cold Tears" (a very "Darkwave/Trance" album), followed closely by the full length instrumental album "When Nightmares Live" which had a more "Drum N Bass" quality. January 2005 marked the release of the 2nd full-length instrumental album "American Bitch", which was more of an EBM album than the previous releases. February marked the launched of the official "FOI Myspace Page" where a small cult gathering of friends and fans came together. As Stricken became better organized and more aquainted with the Fruity Loops program, the fan base continued to slowly grow. In March of 2005 FOI released the last instrumental album "Drown" which contained an even newer and more mature sound, combining EBM, Drum N Bass, Trance, and Darkwave. Due to problems in Stricken's personal life, all music creation came to a grinding halt until July. Stricken once again attacked the music he loved so much and began work on a new album entitled "Heretic" which boasted to be the first album with vocals and not just music. The album plugged on slowly as Stricken put selected demos on the Myspace site. The fan base continued to grow, but the album was doomed and production again came to a halt. After almost 3 years, FOI returns! Stricken decided to take FOI in a new direction in 2008 with a new purpose and sound. The project evolved to include a more IDM/EBM sound which fans reacted to with open arms. January saw the release of a new version of the song "Afraid", which was originally written for the "Heretic" album, but was to be the first demo recorded for the new album. Several new demos followed and the fan base grew steadily larger. New logos were tried out and attempts were made to make the new fan base feel more "in touch" with FOI. Finally FOI had some momentum and 2009 was a HUGE year for Stricken. Several new demos were released (including the fan favorite "Without"). Blogs became "VLOGS", a new layout was put in place and a new logo was unveiled. In July FOI reach 1,000 fans and saw the release of the first "EarCrack" digital EP, a free fan exclusive with a video and free dowloads of demos. By the end of the year "EarCrack Vol.2" was released along with several new demos and the fan base reached 4,600 fans. The new year kicked off with a bang. January 2010 saw several things happen in the world of FOI. The myspace reached 6,400 fans, 2 new demos were released and Sricken started work on a new demo entitled "Never Again". Shopping for mastering and album artwork began in February with hopes of a summer release for the album, though no title or date has yet been announced. Additionally, the myspace page reached over 10,000 song plays. In March FOI got it's first online review through Zak Flak, being quoted as "Brooding, Moody and Apocalyptic". In April Stricken announced the album would be called "Pride" and the first single would be "Without". In May the myspace page reached over 10,000 fans and Stricken updated the player with album version of songs for everyone to hear. August was a big month for Flames Of Ice. It saw the start of the Reverbnation Store, the release of the "Without" EP, and the release of more details (including album art) for the "Pride" CD. In September FOI released the 10 track digital version of the "Pride" album. In 2011 Stricken started the new Vampire Freaks page and a new breed of fan was born. In the latter half of the year Stricken retired the FOI Myspace page in favor of the VF one. In mid 2012 Stricken began work on the second full-length FOI album releasing the first demo "This Winter" in mid-September.
