About Me
WARNING: I curse -- a lot. I flirt -- almost as much as I curse. I am also very open about sex and sexuality. I have a live and let live philosophy that I take very seriously, so while I'm always up for lively debate, I won't sincerely try to tell anyone their way of life is wrong unless I believe they are harming themselves or others -- and I appreciate the same courtesy. If any of these things are liable to offend you, it's very simple: Don't message/friend me. The best way to describe me is: 2 parts freak 1 part hippie 1 part grunge 1 part metalhead I have an extremely Alpha-type personality, but I'm also a pretty easy person to get along with. I have a dry, sarcastic, and sometimes deeply cynical sense of humor. It's very difficult to offend me, even if you're trying to ( as I brace for all the smart-asses who are now going to take that as a personal challenge). Philosophically speaking, I'm a hedonist with morals -- as far as I'm concerned that makes me more of an existentialist. Politically, I'm technically independent. Most of my views are well on the liberal side, with a few more conservative ones thrown in. Religiously, I believe in God. I tend to combine elements from different religions that seem most appropriate to me. I believe that there are many different ways to God/Goddess/enlightenment/etc., including atheism and agnosticism. Obviously, it's complicated. Sexually, I usually describe myself as bisexual because that's universally understood in the mainstream, but pansexual is more appropriate. I'm butch, which is more a way of life for me than just a reference to my sexuality. Some more random stuff: I have a die-hard Peter Pan response to life. Obviously, there's stuff you should take of (food, health, etc.), but as long as that's happening I think it's kind of presumptuous to say things like "people should act their age". Ditto for comments along the lines of "they're too young to understand". Add to that the fact that I've met teenagers who act like they're eighty and people in their forties who act like they're two. As long as nobody is getting hurt I don't think they should have to grow up. I know I never want to. That being said, I've occasionally run into people who were acting so immature that I said something to them. But if I'M telling someone they have to grow up -- well, it's pretty bad. People assume I'm social because I'm friendly, open about my lifestyle and (sometimes too) colorful past, and I like to talk. But I'm actually a very private person. I sometimes disappear for days or weeks at a time -- communicating only to work, let my friends/family know I'm alive and well, and assisting if someone I care about has an emergency. If you friend me on here and that happens, try not to take offense. It probably means I'm not even answering my phone, let alone logging onto social networking sites. It's exceedingly difficult to gain my true loyalty, but once people have it, it's unbreakable. I'm ride or die with the people I care about. I believe family is who you choose, regardless of whether or not you're related by blood. I'm vegetarian. While I'm capable of serious thought and intelligent discussion, I'd much rather pass the time laughing and bullshitting. I'd say I don't like drama, but without exception, everyone I've heard saying that liked drama. Therefore, I LOVE drama. If you've read this far and think we'd get along, feel free to comment/friend. Hatred, intolerance, judgmental people, discrimination against anyone for almost any reason, intentionally condescending behavior, shallow behavior, abusive people, pettiness, cattiness, jealousy, normality, consensual reality, snow, ice, cold weather, day, and being in land-locked places. Hopefully, I won't add more later.
