What you are hearing is someone's work. It's as simple as that. The music exhibited here is a retrospect of forced creativity at ones struggle to start a band in a town full of trendy scenesters and stubborn metalheads. The recordings started in November of 2009.
Before I was doing soundscapes, I mainly dabbled in MIDI music more often than not covering video games and converting MIDIs straight from the game's sound effects. Today however is different, some of these sounds came from an AM radio, an mp3 player set on recording its surroundings, a convicted murderer with a bad smokers cough, even sound effects from legendary sound project, Premature Ejaculation are borrowed and used here.
Allow me to introduce myself as I am the sole creator of these sounds (unless otherwise noted), my name is Casey Strain. I am a nihilistic, negative, hopeless romantic holding for dear life to his dying memories. I only wish to survive. Nobody wants to die in obscurity, so we must create something for ourselves so we have something to leave behind. My music and art is just that. I used to dabble in writing and journalism some years ago as well as photographing and video taping local bands (some punk bands too). However people change, and with it, you change. Several events played out from my release from a group home in 2005 to present day. Starting with my introduction to a drug habit and a guitar, cranking out raunchy power chords to a good friend on drums. Than it was collaging and making music with other people. Than it was photography for a 2 year period. At the end of it all, I found myself still out of a social circle I could trust and talented friends with potential. Instead, I had skeevy stoners, unreliable friends, and a growing distance from those I met in high school. After graduation I flew out to California, at the guidance of someone I thought I could trust. We photographed several punk bands and I flew back home sending her a plane ticket to follow. Than, in a dark bedroom in the autumn of 2009, I began dabbling in soundscapes, producing a self released cassette tape which contained several sounds. This tape is still being worked on today but will never be exhibited anywhere in its entirity. As I will often come back to this tape to re-work sounds.
More to come soon....
Sounds Like:
While it is true that most musical acts seem to fall under a specific genre. I find it very difficult for me personally to define my sounds. My music is mainly experimental. Fecal Intolerance, I guess is just a name. I mean, I also play guitar but I'm not talented enough to bang something out that is as polished and clean as what you'd get from your local record store. There will be a time, I'm sure. But for now my soundscapes is something I'm quite happy with and there will be more to come in the future.
Influences:
Everybody has their influences. For me, it is mainly Rozz Williams. I won't go into detail about Rozz. You either know who he is or you don't. There is no inbetween with this man. If Christian Death and Shadow Project are the only bands of his you have heard of, please, I don't mean to sound arrogant, but don't even bother trying to talk to me about Rozz. He was more than this super goth that everyone makes him out to be. I also am a fan of NON, a project of Boyd Rice. If you haven't heard of Boyd, you should definitely check him out. There is a lot of things I could say about both Boyd and Rozz. But my profile is not the place for it. I suppose another influence of mine would have to be my friend, Danielle Santaguillanna. Danielle is from Italy and has his own sound project called "Testing Vault". He once told me he was interested in doing a split EP with me in the future so watch out, that could actually happen when enough new tracks are created.

-------------[Original Message]---------------- [Fecal-Intolerance] : May 15, 2012, 09:23am >Heard act 1 is chock full of nostalgia. I'm going to have to buy this now knowing you go back to Tristram.
I'm not saying that there was no reason for you to be traumatized or feel haunted by it, but the thing is that everything you said concerning the story seemed sympathetic only towards that-you seemed almost not concerned at all for them, just purely for yourself, you almost exclusively talked about how it was going to affect you, not them, which fits in perfectly with every other incident I've seen of you craving attention.
And no, 1's cult was really just a parody that was originally meant to be a joke within his circle of friends, then the idea was brought up that "omg someone needs to invite Casey, he'll flip the fuck out", and you did exactly as we expected, though we were surprised an admin actually cared about it.
