Self Portrait - December 2011 - A collage done by yours truly..

Fecal Intolerance, formed in 2009, is the avant-garde sound and visual project of Janesville native, Casey Strange. Fecal Intolerance reflects Strange's rebellious nature as he attacks the pop and metal mainstream that bathed his Wisconsin upbringing. His influences stem from soundscape artists like COIL, Premature Ejaculation and NON.

In the truest sense his work is a metaphoric time machine that has been placed in the right hands. His sounds and images entertain, enlighten, disturb and amuse. That certain mood is perfectly captured and resonates distinctly with each listener. His recordings isolate the musical and visual experience in ways that boil it down to a fine concentrate and indeed prolong what would otherwise be momentary.

The meditative quality is punctuated by thoughtful experimentation and quiet sensitivity. A dreamy cross-section of the unknown, with emerging and well-established soundscapes is conjured up. He eliminates the peripheral and leaves us free to establish our own unique parameters for context, guided by mood and instinct. It is a surprising commentary in audio, and a summary of the great potential for Fecal Intolerance.

Allow me to introduce myself as I am the sole creator of these soundscapes. Chances are, you probably won't even listen to them. Experimental noise is a very misunderstood genre often under looked by those who claim to like ihndustrial music but are really just band wagon riders under the spell of Faderhead, Wumpscut, Combichrist, etc.

In other words: If you came here for EBM/Trnace/Cub music, than GTFO!

Moving along, I am Casey Strange. I hail from Janesville Wisconsin as you just read in my review from Pacific Image music. My soundscapes are the product of compiling sounds from videos games and recordings I make at home or when I'm out and about. The recordings are usually made from my mp3 player and or sampled from video games older than most kids around here. I also take my research of cult leaders and serial killers and implement them here. In other instances I might sample from recordings that focus on confessions from a convicted killer or rapist...or worse. Fecal Intolerance is for those who are able to face the realities of living and is not for the faint hearted.

FI started in late November of 2009 when I had at the time, had enough of my local music scene. I had some months earlier, choosen to resign from co-owning the now top rated cult on VF, gothic international which I helped maintain until May of 2009. I was brought up in the punk scene got involved in the gothic scene in high school never once caring about what the modern scene was into. My passion for history and music shaped me into a private collector of rare music by various artists but one in particular had rare soundscapes recordings that shaped the heart of what FI is today.

During the beginnings of FI I was struggling to stay alive and in stable living and the recordings reflect my metamorphosis into several different states of mind. From simple drone and ambience to samplings of newscasts to even the smokers cough from my upstairs neighbor whom would eventually stab his neighbor to death, FI sure does show a detailed portrait that I have helped paint and capture.

It was also during most of these recordings that I had promoted a certain musician in the deathrock scene and also began collecting for. I won't say his name, I'm sure you'll figure it out if you really cared enough. But this pages lack of design and activity should go to show that I always tend to multi-task and be doing several thins at once. Like the band page that is slightly linked to here that I help maintain and put little work into (simply because I hate his fans at this point).

In case you haven't figured it out yet, I am not aiming to be famous, top rated, featured band etc. on VF. I am not a vein, pompous, snobby little cunt like most of you lot and I am a "from the ground up" type person. Life was not handed to me on a silver platter and I have a no tolerance policy towards shallow people. Thank you for checking out Fecal Intolerance.

Sounds Like
While it is true that most musical acts seem to fall under a specific genre. I find it very difficult for me personally to define my sounds. My music is mainly experimental. It doesn't cater to any genre, it doesn't have any boundaries and if you can't stomach that, fine by me.
