Profile:

Right, so I was told by some friends that I would probably be a lot happier if I learned to socialize a little and after several failed attempts at a rebuttal I was forced to agree. Thus with some trepidation I began to attend "The Dark Room" the only goth club in Arkansas, which lucky for me is located right here in Fayetteville at The Dart Room bar and have since become a rather frequent member. In the same vain I created this account.

Now having said that I guess I should say at least a little about myself. (keep in mind I'm not very good at this) I am a technical theatre major (lighting) at the University of Arkansas. I read quite a bit as I have neither the internet nor cable. (sacrifices made in order to live in a 19th century apartment near campus) I read fiction almost exclusively and prefer works which focus on fantastic, weird, or romantic subjects. I have fondness for fine clothes (I blame my high school debate carrier for this) I especially like old pieces, not vintage but antique. However due to being 6' and rather lanky it's hard to find old garments that fit properly. As a result I have begun creating some of my own, and I am currently working up to starting on an excellent pattern which is an exact replica of an antique coat. (costume patters are terrible and only serve to recreate the look of the garment) but it's complicated and a little intimidating. Um I can't think of anything else and I have to get back to work so I'll add more when it comes to me.

- I was raised as a Quaker, but decided to keep the values and drop the god part of it.

- I prefer honest simplicity to flashy/gaudy things/styles.

-I'm not incredibly fond of having my picture taken so the photos are a little random.

---I also try not edit pictures beyond what it takes to make a bad photo visible, or maybe change to gray scale.

--- If you have any suggestions or constructive criticism for my profile please please tell me. One can never improve until they know the nature of the problem.

--You’re Comments and thoughts do interest me so please feel free to leave them.

---I do my best to respond to all comments and ratings, but please keep in mind that in addition to lacking a home internet connection I tend to have a hard time being social. However that does not mean I don’t like you.

- If your intent is not idle net activity, and you earnestly want to contact me, and I for some reason have failed to respond to your message please feel free to send me another one. Having ADD (for which I take an obscene amount of medication) makes me a bit of a space cadet but additional comments (of substance) will probably gain my attention.

…….sooo I just thought I’d mention that everything you read is really old. I have not updated the profile in a long time…..but I’m just not sure I can bring myself to care. You know how it is…work …school. I made the mistake of taking a large number of graduate courses as and undergrad, and have subsequently barely had time to breath…much less socialize on the internet.

Random Thoughts:

"By the virtue of your humanity you are a god, shape your future as you see fit."

-A Thought on Hot Topic- The best and possibly the only way to kill a form of counter culture is to make it popular culture. Regardless of how you feel about the store it’s hard to deny the somewhat unwelcome popularity which it has given to certain subcultures. I’m not necessarily saying that the store is in the wrong, I’m simply commenting on its effect.

-One day I will rewrite this random hodgepodge of ideas into a proper profile. I just don’t know when I’ll have the mental free time to create something worth viewing.

--Ok I just made the mistake of viewing random users, and now I feel that I need to say this. Taking "cool" pictures of yourself and posting them on your profile is SILLY! Do you hear me you silly people? Your profile photos should represent who you are. Not how cool, or sexy, or interesting you think you are. Any one more impressed with how well pose than your natural appearance is not worth getting to know. Period. And yes I'm looking at you "emo" kids. You HAVE to stop holding the camera over your head and pouting. You look ridiculous. No I don't hate you, I'm trying to HELP you. Cut it out.

Twizzlers! (eats a twizzler)..and and The Count Of Monte Cristo...and H.P. Lovecraft..and oh! Nick Cave And The Bad Seeds....and ummm black cherry tea...aaaannnd (looks around) chess!....maps too, those are neat.

Fencing! (epee preferred) i plan to start competing with the USFA as soon as possible.

Oh, and the smell of old books.

Dislikes:

People who wear shoes with no socks, that's icky. Please don't be an icky person, wear your socks.

Lolita fashion! …the title is inherently pedophilic, and from what I have seen the fashion leans disturbingly in that direction. …..I find nothing cute or endearing in a sexually mature female dressing as a child.

Thanks for the comment! By no means one of my fav boards, that a WholeHog iPC running Hog 3. Its generally my second choice, as I use GrandMA almost exclusively. That photo is a couple of years old, and at the time there was only 2 GrandMA consoles in Hong Kong, there's plenty now.

You do lighting too?
