About Me
I was living in Las Vegas for the past 11 years, singing on stage as an opera singer. I am happy now to say I moved from Las Vegas to Iowa. I am going back to school to further my vocal performance career and audition with some midwest opera companies. Performing is my life. I am a dramatic mezzo-soprano and a classically trained opera singer. I also sing other styles of music. My image is not of the typical opera singer. Tattoos...piercings...I'm a mezzo with attitude. Fuck the corporate classical assholes. I fight to end discrimination of what a typical classical/opera singer should look like. I'd like to network with other talented artists, performers & collaborators. I'm also looking to create a band that bridges the gap between genres such as goth, rock, metal and opera...something that has orchestral/symphonic overtones. I am even open to any electronic or trance projects. Besides my vocal instrument, I play piano/keyboards, sax and some bass. I've also had years of training in music theory & composition as well as eartraining & sightsinging. I'm generally a nice person unless provoked. I rarely open up to people right off, so if I seem detached or cold don't take offense. My walls are constantly up, as I do not trust people easily. Guess you could say it's my nature...I'm a SCORPIO and was born in the year of the Tiger. Am I a tortured artist? Maybe... sometimes I thrive on my inner turmoil. Still with me? Yeah!...here's more for you to digest. I know what you are thinking...jeez will she ever shut-up? No. I will not. Fuck you. ;) I am pretty good at finding the hidden meanings or hidden intentions of others. It scares people away sometimes... I am proud of my heritage, as everyone should be. My grandmother was a talented genealogist, so I know where my family comes from. My grandmother was the first generation to be born in the U.S. My family is German (Alsace), Irish, Scottish (Baxter clan) and Cherokee (Native American). This country is a huge melting pot, so deal with it. I hold myself up to high standards and I get frustrated if people don't live up to my expectations. I am also my own worst critic. I'm very loyal to my family and closest friends and I would do anything for them. I fight for the underdog and if someone tries to harm the people I care about, my wrath is fierce. I'm not afraid of my dark side and I have a very long memory. ***I like my privacy, so I don't disclose too much info on here about my personal life. If you want to know something particular about me just ask.

Favorite Music
I like a wide range of music...so those of you who are gothier-than-thou baby bats...go whine to someone who gives a fuck. Ahem... The post-punk and goth music eras were influenced by earlier forms of "goth". Many young ones seem to think that you are only goth if you listen solely to goth music ...or they mistake what goth music is...or they think goth is all about fashion...and they have not done their research and do not understand the history behind the goth subculture. Libertine writings, romantic artists, the angst and vitriol of the punks who felt the growing distance from the violent scene all helped to sew the SEEDS of "goth". Check out Lord Byron, Shelley, Keats, and the Marquis de Sade's influences. Without including all that INFLUENCED the first early goths in music and style... you miss the point of what being goth is really about. The music had/has a motive in sound, lyrics and visual elements. Goths appreciate the darker side of life and the lighter side of death (haha - my quote, don't steal)...and find the beauty in all things dark. (of course) Goths GET the joke and are NOT the joke itself. Goths are DIY (do it yourself) and piece together precious little treasures they have found to have a complete creative unique style that expresses who they are. Ok, rambling done...
