Dj Morbid aka Dani "Daz" Garza has been djing and producing since 1995. I have been pushing acid, trance, hardcore, hard house and some metal into a melting pot of heavy hitting music for the dance floors. My music beats can be heard throughout the world. I am also part of the industrial/elektro project, Something To Destroy.
Something To Destroy (STD) - "Die For Salvation"
I started out in the Rio Grande Valley of South Texas as a club dj then moved on to other styles of music. From Dj Dani Kaos(Hardcore/House), Dj Wicked (Darkwave), Dj Morbid (Euro Gabber/Hardcore/Darkwave), to my own name Dj Dani Garza. I was also the guitarist/keyboardist/programmer for the bands, Wither, Brainpan and SIDHE. I was co-owner of Club 218 , bringing the Northern Front Range of Colorado/Wyoming the best in underground metal, hardcore, raves, and club music from around the region and world. I brought several national and international dj's to Northern Colorado/Wyoming. It was during this time that I formed "Mountain Raves" for the entire Rocky Mountain region. I started it out as an e-list to let people know what parties, raves, shows, and clubs were doing in the following weeks across the Rockies. This soon became a website I developed with the same information on the e-list. I soon got help from the people who formed "Pureform Atmospheres in Ft. Collins, Colorado and they soon took over the reigns from there since I still had obligations to fill with the U.S. Air Force. During this time I also helped my gothic sister, Cinka, by helping start the e-site, "The Gothic Preservation Society". I wrote and collaborated with Cinka for several years afterwards. In 2001, "The Gothic Preservation Society" soon became "Dark Culture Magazine" and it took off like wildfire. After several years, "Dark Culture Magazine" is alive and well today! We also started up the first American Gothic chat room on AOL which had members from all over this nation. After Club 218 was shut down, I relocated to Denver, Colorado with my bandmates whom were also co-owners of Club 218. It is here that I continued to produce music and play in the band as well as spin dark Hardcore/Gabber and dark trance music under the ColoKidz and Bounce Klowns groups. To this day, I still help spread the word of the Rocky Mountain Region to the masses through the help of my friends at Triad Dragons and the ole' 303 Collective. Relocating to the Rio Grande Valley due to a job and already having been part of the djs scene gave me an oppurtunity to spread my love of music to the South. It is in Texas that I decided to slow down on the Hardcore/Gabber and Trance/Hard House genres and go to what I always would listen to and love --- HEAVY FUCKING INDUSTRIAL MUSIC! Back in the day there was no such thing as "Aggotech" but I was spinning a style similar to it by mashing black metal and death metal with hardcore/gabber and some old school industrial/darkwave music. Since I was 10 years old I have been listening to Throbbing Gristle, old Ministry, Nitzer Ebb, Christian Death, Kraftwerk, and Skinny Puppy. I have always had a fondness for dark and hard industrial music but never had a venue to express it until now. I would put in hints of industrial music with the bands I was in, but it wasn't the other member's choice in music. So i said FUCK IT, I am going to spin it but in a club/dance environment. So combining all my influences of acid, retro, hard trance, hardcore, black metal, darkwave, and aggro industrial...I have developed my own style. Currently, I am the owner of Klubstalkerz and Astralmedia. Astralmedia Records is a music label for electronica/gothic/industrial artists as well as rock/metal artists. Astralmedia Promotions is an artist/event promotions company that caters to several mediums. The company Astralmedia used to work out of Denver, Colorado but is now out of South Texas. This company specializes mostly with multimedia and musical artist relations. I am also resident for NightShift (South Texas), Sanctorum, Sin (Brownsville), Metropolis (McAllen), and Industrial Dance Rave (San Antonio/Austin). I have been hitting raves throughout the US have played in many U.S. cities. My music has been played since 1996 and can be heard on many online radio stations under Dj Morbid and Dani Garza names. Sincerely,
MORBID
