About Me
(Click The Banner Below To Order CompulsorySkin's Debut Album, "NakedToTheBones." In Stores NOW!!)

HISTORY: It happened when her mother, who was six months pregnant with her, went to a David Bowie concert: The result was that Valeska [PiaPale] was so thoroughly touched by the experience of music in the safety and comfort of her mothers womb that she instinctively decided it would be her future home and retreat. So it was and it remained Valeska's steady companion all her life, until she began to explore and express her own mental music. At first she attempted to express her musical vision in several bands, but she soon realized that in various aspects she could achieve more working on her own, thus CompulsorySkin was born. The project is a blend of TripPop and Industrial Rock that refuses to adhere to any contemporary standards, and Valeska as a composer, soloist and producer leads this project on its unique, solitary groundbreaking path.
THE NAME "COMPULSORYSKIN": It's a metapher for the skin we're all wearing and we're all stuck in not being able to escape of even if we want to. On the other hand it's got a fetishistic meaning as well : Thinking of tight fitting rubber costumes...
The songwriting and production by PiaPale.

CompulsorySkin's music is the European answer to the American Industrial trend yet still authentic and ahead of its time. PiaPale - alias Valeska Weich's -music is often described as a harder/heavier version of Depeche Mode, an Industrial manifestation of PJ Harvey or Björk and a comparative female version of Trent Reznor.
The multi-talented artist, who has been making music since her childhood, has also managed to assemble an extraordinary band for the live shows of her music.
PiaPale and the band can all look back on successful musical projects.
Like nobody else in the genre she combines Electro,Rock,Sythpop and Industrial music and complements these with her expressive voice and melodies -- the result is unique music that is still seeking its like within the industrial music scene.
The Album "Naked to the Bones" which carries and expresses the uncompromising emotionality of the artist, is already causing a buzz on myspace where over 116,000 plays of her music and a Fangroup with over 6300 members clearly speak volumes for themselves.
Thus CompulsorySkin, is a sound of the current time that appears to have hit the nerve of the Zeitgeist.
