About Me
Carved In Ashes was founded in Helsinki, Finland, in 2009. The band plays progressive metal layered with atmospheric, almost cinematic soundscapes, and subtle postrock nuances, and occassional jazz and folk influences. Vocalist Juanma Draven is Spanish, which brings a nice latin tinge to the band's signature sound. Debut EP "Neversary" was released in August 2010. The opening track "Dark Pity" was picked on a freebie compilation by the grassroots prog & classic rock label Melodic Revolution Records, in Florida, USA. Neversary was also nominated as the "Demo of the Month" in December 2010, in the Finnish metal music magazine Inferno. New EP "The Drowned Silhouette" was released digitally (iTunes, Amazon) in March 2012. Oh, I know, right? The manual control all of us 'old' people grew up with is becoming obsolete amongst modern Nintendo. It makes gameplay awkward, especially with the release of the Wii U this past November.
