Golden Kingdom
Once long ago there was a great kingdom call the Golden Crown. In this kingdom lived a boy named Pelician. He lived in a town of Gern. He was always told that he had something special about him and that he was meant to do something grand. He could not remember his parents at all only that his dad was one of the few warrior mages in the service of the Golden King. His mother he remembered singing him a song. His parents were killed in defending this town from an attack from the merciless Justic nation to the north that the golden nation had been at war with for years. Since then he has wanted to become a warrior mage just like his father and defend his country. One day while helping a farmer move all the hey to his cart a messenger came to him from a man named Al de Kik asking if he would pay him a visit at his apartment he was renting. No one knows who he was just that he was a Darkener. They are a species that are half eagle, and half human. So Pelician went to see what this man wanted. He left for the apartment after leaving a tip for the messenger. When he got to the door he knocked. When the door opened he seen the sword of a warrior and he was wearing a robe of a high wizard. Which stunned him no one ever said he was a warrior Ned alone a mage. He has a strange looking face. Looking that of a giant eagle but had certain human qualities like a winkled forehead. Al de kik grabbed Pelician and pulled him into his room and shut the door. He then said “Hello Pelician. I has been a long time since I have seen you I believe a couple of days before the attack that killed your parents. That was a said day indeed. Though your dad did ask me that am if you want to teach you the art of being a mage now a warrior I can’t teach you. I just don’t have that kind of training though you can still practice to be one. What do you say?” Pelician was startled how could this be all of his life he had believed he could not be one did not have the gift but now here stood a wizened old wizard who was offering to teach him. He said “Mr. Al how can I become a wizard I thought you had start getting your training at a young age and I am already fifteen.” Al said “ Boy that is the norm but me and your father before he died bless his soul decided with how smart and fast you caught on to things to start teaching you at this age instead where you are able to understand and not let it get ahead of you like magic can if your not careful and also just the other day I had a vision of you saving this kingdom which is falling apart at the seems it won’t be long now before everything your parents fought and died for will be gone already the Golden city does not sign like it did just two yeas ago. So will you training will take about a year away from this place and the golden kingdom” Pelician “yes I will lead the way master Al.” Bowing as he said that. Six month flew by training indeed was long and strenuous. But in Pelican’s mind it was all worth. He could now do most simple spells without Al there and pretty soon Al said he would be able to do modern spells without him. Al had also showed him some sword fighting techniques but he couldn’t really teach like he said thought every night he did wish that he could leave soon and defend the kingdom. On the seventh month Al got very sick and he called for Pelician to come to him like he did when he first meet Al though this time he walked right into the room and bowed and said “Master what do you need” Al answered “To tell you I have taught you all I can for I have seen that this sickness will be the death of me. Pelican Go to that chest over there and pull out the items that are wrapped in dragon’s cloth and bring them here.” Pelician walked to the chest and opened it. Inside he found six items wrapped in dragon’s cloth and picked each one up and took it over to Al. The last one he took over he said “Master this one is a sword I can tell by how it is wrapped. Why did you have me fetch a sword for you?” Al replied “Not for me dear silly old boy it’s for you. This sword is no ordinary sword it was your father and it is call Dithgog. Do you remember what that means in the wizard tongue?” Pelician said “Yes master it means justice and restitution so why does the name matter master” Al said “ Have you not learned anything from me about weapons and magic that sword was made with magic and steel your grandfather made it for your dad for this war and he put all he had into it. That by my leg is your mothers amulet it helps keep you safe. The rest I have shown you in your studies now is time for me to sleep good bye Pelician and it’s been great having you as a student and I can also say you where my best student that I have ever had in my eleven eight hundred years of life. That was how one of the most powerful wizards’s passed away to another life. Pelician walked back to his home town and found his town devastated by the war the once silver wall that circled the city was now had a gaping hole in one said and no longer shined but was tarnished and worn. He walked in to see people he once new scurrying around as fast as they could. He stopped at the house that he lived in most of his life and walked in. No one was in there. He then went back out and seen two of his friends when he lived here. He said hello to them and then they took off running. Old man Parish walked up to him and said “Pelician so much has changed since you left. The day after you left a army of those Justic came down and attack and it lasted for half a month when the Golden army arrived and pushed them out but two months later they came back with a lot more this time they forced the golden army to retreat and broke the silver wall and broke down the great silver gate that has never been destroyed.” Pelician said “Then most of this destruction is my fault I never should of left mast Al told me that I had some kind of effect on this land that kept us as one of the Golden Kings most profitable providence he had and when I left the scene that the great power had left and attack. Parish I’m going to set everything to right.” Parish asked “How are you going to do that did you make it to be a warrior mage.” “No I am not a full warrior mage yet like my father but I after this if I secede I will be I am not even a full mage Master Al died of a great sickness just yesterday. And to answer your question how am I going to solve this I am going to set everything to right, and the first thing I need to do is push those vile things back to where they belong then in order to keep everything to rights I am going to live down there and hopefully the power Al told me I subconcisly create will stop them but those foolish enough to cross into the golden kingdom will be killed by me.” Old man Parish said “No man alive can single handedly drive them back you are going to need help. Ned alone you are not even a fully trained warrior or mage. You can not secede in this matter with out help.” Pelician said “Thank you greatly for your advise old man but I need to do this good bye.” Pelician went out and found the justice army out side the golden city and he seen a major battle happening when he got there but it looked like the golden guard that protected the city was getting defeated. So he charged into battle with his father sword Dithgog in his hand he fought with bravery that had not been seen since the days of his fathers glory and the guard thought he was a mage warrior with how they fought but he never realized his true power until after he was stuck down off of his horse and was dieing. His true power came from believing he had a better future and also wishing for it ahead but when he heard about everybody he loved he just jumped and did not believe so he did not have his power. So as his final hope and wish he wished that the golden city would glow like it once did and that the Justic would be driven from the land and he notice the city almost immediately started to glow and the Justic started to run then Pelician died. But before that he heard the brave defenders give a holler of triumph then they seen the person who they knew was responsible for their victory and a low moan. The defenders made a sled for them to drag behind them and put pelician’s body on that sled and took it to the golden city. The king was standing at the steps of his palace where the defender took pelician’s body. When the guards seen the king they kneeled. Then king asked “Why do you bring this boy to my presence brave guards?” The captain of the guards stood up and bowed then said “Your lord this brave warrior mage helped us win and driven off the Justice but it took his life for him to do so sir but I thought you would want to see the hero that save this town maybe even this kingdom for the city now shines again king more fierce than I ever remember it.” The king walked down to the body and said “He is still but a boy and he saved us all. Since he paid the cost to save this kingdom we shall honor him by putting up a memorial to him that will shine longer than this kingdom.”
