The Acylum project started in 2005 with the album"Your Pain" and it should be a conquest. And furthermore it produces lots of discussions. With the follow up It’s in his Chemnitz-based bunker where DJ Pedro Engel initiated the ACYLUM project back in 2004. With the debut album “Your Pain” (2005), the East German artist instantly dominated the harsh electro/industrial scene. By shedding light on the darkest and sickest sides on the human reality, ACYLUM exposes the side of society that is too often neglected and rejected. His intricate and radical use of provocative samples has also brought him some controversial reactions amongst the press, in Germany in particular where some historical moments remain touchy and taboo. With the follow-up album “Mental Disorder” (2007) Pedro Engel returns with a strong and mature production that showcases his unique skills and innovation. In a sea of dark elektro clones, ACYLUM stands strong with its very own identity excelling on mid-tempo multi-layered tracks. ACYLUM collides harsh vocals and more orchestral melodic moments into a devastating power noise assault. Cold, dramatic, heavy and intense.., After numerous compilation appearances and an impressive list of remixes for other artists, the one-man project prepares himself in 2008 for a new era in ACYLUM’s fast ascending career: Pedro decides to take full control on his artistic approach caring himself for most vocal parts now too and eventually signed to Belgium’s Alfa Matrix label for his forthcoming album. “The Enemy”, the 3rd full length CD will push ACYLUM to the next level, with its hammering powerful elektro tunes, hard vocals and massive sound arrangements mixing dark noise and lifting orchestral arrangements. No compromise, no failure… ACYLUM is preparing the harshest album of the year 2009. Beware! ...there is no way out of this trip...
