Profile: Welcome to Kenaz! Kenaz is a rockband from the Alkmaar area, the Netherlands, set up in 2002. Hugo, Lex, Maarten and Job met at school, and started playing together. After months of searching for a suitable vocalist, Hugo met Carolien whilst playing in the orchestra for the school musical, in which Carolien had the leading part. Impressed by her vocal skills, the guys asked her to fullfill the role of singer in the band. She willingly agreed, and thus Kenaz was born. After Job left the band, Kenaz went on. Kenaz started writing songs in addition to their repertory of covers, and kept doing gigs on a regular basis. In july 2005, they recordede their first demo, to be heard on this site. In april 2006, Kenaz decided to spice things up a bit, and they asked Karel to join them with synth, second guitar, and backing vocals.
